More About The Athletic Room

Why Cryo?

Every professional athlete ends a training session with an ice bath, and they don’t do it for fun. Our Impact Cryotherapy Chamber delivers the same benefits without the wet, pain or time that makes ice baths a hassle.

Allow us to simplify the science: During Cryotherapy, nitrogen vapor passes over your skin stimulating the cold sensors and prompting survival mode in your body. This response moves blood and other resources to your core organs. There blood is enriched with oxygen, collagen, erythrocytes and other nutrients. Once you exit the cryo chamber, the refreshed, nutrient-rich blood moves throughout your body, back into the skin, muscles and soft tissue. Other chemical responses, like the release of endorphins and adrenalin, create bursts of energy that can last for hours.

Why Local Cryo?

Do you remember the first time you put an “Ice Pack” on your body?  It can be shockingly cold, messy, and difficult to ice the exact area where you need it most.  With Local Cryotherapy you no longer have to “fuss” with that process but can still benefit from faster muscle recovery, reduction of swelling & inflammation, and riding yourself of localized aches and pains.

Based on our experience Local Cryotherapy is much more powerful than an Ice Pack; by combining local and whole body Cryotherapy we can help you address the problem from “outside in” as well as from “inside out.”

Why Cupping?

Cupping is a tool that can be used to help release restrictions between the fascia tissue and the muscles.  At the Athletic Room we do not do the traditional cupping that uses fire and glass cups but instead use the method that has been seen on TV during the Olympics or is widely used in training rooms for Collegiate and Professional Athletes.

Cupping uses the pressure of suction to pull skin, tissue and muscles upward as opposed to a massage where you apply pressure downward on the area.  Cupping assists the body to remove pain and toxins from the muscles while improving their flexibility and range of motion.  The improvements in biomechanics and dealing with a trouble area can be quite impressive.

Why Compression?

We all know the age-old prescription of R.I.C.E. to treat sports injuries. Rest, ice, Compression and Elevation are essential components for recovery. Thanks to advancing technologies, compression therapy is no longer just a wrap.

Our Compression recovery room features the best NormaTec systems to get you back to performing at 100%. The expertly selected NormaTec “sleeves” are placed on your arms, legs or hips and are inflated to mold to your shape. Pulsating air begins to compress and then release similar to the kneading feeling of a massage. This patented pulsing sensation is repeated in a sequential pattern that will reduce swelling and fluid build up while increasing blood flow. This allows in more nutrients and oxygen enabling a faster recovery.

Why GameReady?
