Cryotherapy
While it might sound super high-tech, cryotherapy is really just the simple concept of using cold as therapy. It's a quick, dry, non-invasive and effective way to ease pain, reduce soreness and boost energy. Commonly associated with athletes in training, cryotherapy can also ease everyday aches and pains.
Traditional cryotherapy involves the use of ice in the form of packs or baths. At Invigorate, we use super chilled air to trigger your body's natural healing response. The sessions last just a few minutes, but can leave you feeling Invigorated for hours or days. Come see us and take the first step toward managing your pain - naturally.
A little nervous? That's perfectly normal. Give us a call to chat, check our FAQs, or testimonials.
When we say cryotherapy at Invigorate, we are usually talking about whole body cryotherapy. This is essentially a DRY and QUICK alternative to an ice bath. Most professional sports teams, and many elite college teams, use cryosaunas in their training facilities. Chances are you've seen your favorite athlete (or even reality TV star) doing this.
You'll stand in the cryosauna in your undies, gloves, socks, and booties while really (really) cold air blows on you for up to three minutes. Our cryo specialist will be next you the whole time making sure you are safe, comfortable, and hopefully a little distracted. When the time's up, you'll wrap up in a warm fuzzy robe and exit the cryosauna leaving the cold and your pain behind.
Local cryotherapy is for the ice pack what whole body is for the ice bath, an upgraded more efficient alternative. We use a Cryo-T Elephant local cryotherapy unit for our sessions. We use the wand to blow really cold air on the targeted body part. Depending on the area, sessions range from three to ten minutes.
Local sessions are recommended for acute problem areas that need a little more focus. Necks, shoulders, and knees are popular targets. In most cases, we recommend local sessions as a supplement to whole body not a replacement. If you double up in one visit, we will do whole body followed by local.
Sessions are in an open space. Bring or wear clothes that will allow access to the part we are working on.
A facial is simply a ten-minute local cryotherapy session focusing on the face and scalp. Our clients describe the experience as both relaxing and Invigorating. Mostly used for cosmetic benefits, the facial also feels amazing on a headache. A facial targets inflammation and puffiness and stimulates blood flow to the face. The cold air temporarily leaves your skin looking and feeling tightened and your eyes feel like you just took a nap.
