About The CryoBar: Sara opened The CryoBar in Lincoln Park to bring the amazing benefits of cryotherapy to her neighbors and friends in Chicago. After over a decade of intense inflammatory and arthritis issues, including hip and foot surgeries and a hypothyroid, Sara was miserable and ready for relief outside of doctors and all the medications. At the recommendation of a friend, Sara began doing whole body cryotherapy for her inflammation and joint pain relief. She was amazed how quickly she felt all of the positive effects of cryotherapy.
“I have to admit I was scared to death and hated the idea of being cold. I’m cold all the time and live in Chicago, so why in the world would I intentionally get into a human freezer?” Sara’s first whole body cryo treatment only lasted 2 minutes. “I was so nervous that as soon as I heard 2 minutes, I let myself out! It was really more my nerves than how cold the machine was during the treatment. When I got out, my body immediately started warming up and I felt the endorphin high. That energy enabled me to get SO much done that day; yet, that night, I slept like a baby, which is not my norm.”
Sara gained 16lbs two years prior when her thyroid failed. She immediately began losing weight and had increased energy after each whole body session. Now, she is off all her anti-inflammatory medications, has lost all 16lbs, and can wear her original wedding ring again, after years of inflammation in her hands. Cryotherapy has truly given Sara her quality of life back. Cryotherapy also allows Sara to workout regularly without pain and soreness throughout her body.
